Did you Know Keller Williams Agents Lead in Luxury Homes Sales?

In 2020, KW agents around the world sold 25,343 properties priced at $1M+. Several of our very own Lynn Holley Real Estate agents are part of the Keller Williams Luxury group. Read on for an interview with KW Luxury member, our very own, Mari Slobounov.


Tell me a little about yourself. 

My name is Mari Slobounov and I’m the lead buyer and listing specialist for the Lynn Holley Real Estate team.  I’m a mom of two boys and married to my husband Anton.  I grew up in California, then spent 5 years in Washington DC prior to moving to Madison 10 years ago. Prior to real estate I worked in the accounting field. I decided to use my finance and contractual background, love for helping others and attention to detail to become a Real Estate Agent.  Since then I have helped hundreds of buyers and sellers in the greater Madison area.

How has this market impacted the KW luxury market?

There has never been a better time to sell a luxury home in the Madison area as the luxury market is experiencing all time highs. In Madison, the luxury market is defined by the top 10% of home sale prices, or homes valued at more than $570,000. There were 133 luxury sales from Jan - March 17, 2020 with an average home price of $695,000. This year there have been 211 sales from Jan - March 17, 2021 and the average home price is up to $714,000. 

The demand for luxury homes is increasing due to buyers on the hunt for more space. Buyers are in need of areas for home gyms, offices (sometimes multiple spaces), larger indoor living spaces to allow kids to play in the winter months and land for outside entertainment. As people spend more and more time in their homes, they are realizing they have a need for larger homes. 

We are also seeing many people relocating to Madison from large urban areas like Chicago, New York, Denver, Seattle due to all the wonderful amenities Madison has to offer and the ability to buy a lot more house for the dollar. With a strong economy, top rated schools, abundance of parks and lakes, affordable lifestyle and rated #1 place to live on many lists, it is no wonder why people are flocking to the area and looking for luxury homes.
