On Madison’s west side, Blackhawk is known as one of the area’s most desirable neighborhoods, featuring beautiful homes on sizable lots with plenty of green space to enjoy.
Although Blackhawk’s core is relatively seasoned – construction first began in the mid-1990s – the neighborhood has stood the test of time. And to help keep things fresh, new lots are released for development every year.
Blackhawk is now comprised of 485 homes, and the neighborhood is a regular part of the Madison Area Builders Association’s Parade of Homes, an event which rotates to different locations each year, and in which builders show off their premium properties to the public and offer them for sale.
The neighborhood is popular with families because several schools are in close proximity to Blackhawk, which is served by the Middleton-Cross Plains School District.
Blackhawk also features more than 40 acres of parks and green space, including Blackhawk Park and Swallowtail Park. And Pleasant View Golf Course is located just across Blackhawk Road.
The Blackhawk Homeowners Association also is actively involved in providing events for residents, including holiday happenings, parades, and family picnics at Swallowtail Park.
The neighborhood is bounded by Blackhawk Road on the north, Pleasant View Road on the east, Old Sauk Road on the south, and the city of Madison limits on the west. Click here to see map
